I thought I would show you the card I made for my DH birthday a couple of weeks ago, I rather liked it. I love the steampunk look, though sometimes I'm not overly fond of the dark colours, or perhaps it is just the lack of any bright colours. Anyway I decided I would do it a blue and grey and this is the outcome!
The cogs cut using a sizzix die (Tim Holtz) and the silver piece at the back of the banner is a spellbinders die. The banner is from a papermania stamp set which is all banners and sentiments and I cut the banner out after stamping it in grey stazon ink. The background was made using the cogs embossing folder by sizzix also a Tim Holts one. To get the look I inked the flat side of the folder before putting the paper in and running it through the machine. The brads are from my stash (had them a while).
